A Prayer Life: 1 Mistake You Make When You Don’t Have One

The title seems a bit much but I had to get you curious enough to open this blog post. But this is not me condemning you or shaming you either; especially, if you haven’t been as consistent as you would like to be in prayer. I will admit, that I struggle with a consistent prayer life too. Not sure if it’s ADHD or if we get so wrapped up in the demands of our lives. All I know is that we are hurting ourselves and the Kingdom when we don’t pray. (more…)

Dive in…

Have you looked in the mirror and started to smile at what you saw?

I had that moment yesterday. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t pick at why my legs are so skinny, my breasts hang low and my shoulders so broad. No, I looked at myself and really loved what I saw.

But the thing about it is that I haven’t changed anything about my body. There were no clothes on top to cover it, no makeup to highlight its strong points, no jewelry to make my skin look kissed by the sun. There was none of that. It was just me in my nakedness with  undergarments on, standing in front of the mirror, admiring every inch of me.

Then it hit me, it was God who changed how I saw myself. It was spending time in his Word and being edified by the sweet words He continues to speak to me. It was the openness of my mind to accept the truth so that I can see and understand the fullness of who I am.

Understanding Your Identity In Christ With These Printables

God has made us fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalms 139:14

He made us complex and designed to be of help to others in this world. Ephesians 2:10

God gave us bodies to protect our spirit and to use to win souls on this earth. 1 Cor 15:44

He reminds us that our bodies are a temple, a place of honor and holy ground. God makes sure we know that our body belongs to Him. 1 Cor 6:19-20

Self-Esteem As A Mom: Three Simple Ways To Improve

Our bodies do not make us who we are, it is just our vessel. Our bodies are not meant to be ogled over by many men but kept for the one who knows how to handle it with care. Our bodies won’t leave with us when we leave this earth, just a compilation of dust, clay, and breath that is soon to go away.

But see, the enemy desires for us to not fully understand the fullness of ourselves. He wants us to be distracted by our bodies, obsessed with our bodies, and become discouraged and defeated enough to no longer see ourselves as a strong and beautiful spirit encapsulated by body.

But God…

God says we are more than our bodies. He sees beyond our shells, exterior beauty, and presentation. He sees us for who we are, deep down in our heart and in our spirit.

I have always felt like my spirit was beautiful but my heart was always fighting to be healthy, whole, secure. So on this day, I realized that I was no longer allowing the enemy to distort my view but that God has healed my heart and cleared my vision so that I can see the true beauty and light that radiates from my heart and spirit.

I hope you will begin to see that you are altogether beautiful and without flaws to God too. Because when you truly love someone, even their shortcomings are beautiful and worthy of grace. That’s how God sees you!

Let us pray…

Heavenly Father, I pray that every person who is reading this devotional today be blessed by the gift that You have given me on this week. I pray that every woman who has never felt pretty enough or good enough will seek You to open their eyes in the same way. Help us Lord to see ourselves as You see us. Help us to dig deep enough within ourselves and within your Word to see the beauty and light that You’ve planted inside us. Holy Spirit, warn us when the enemy is attempting to distort our view of ourselves and give us the eyes of God so that we can see ourselves beyond our bodies and treat ourselves in the way that You do with kindness and gentleness.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

How Trusting God Can Help With Your Anxiety Around Relationships

Hey ladies, It’s been a while since I posted, by it was all for a good reason. I was in the midst of what I call a whirlwind last week, causing anxiety around relationships.
