God Is Bible Study: Know God More As A Single Mom

Spread the love

This year, my sole purpose for Made New Mama is to help single moms who have been struggling in life and faith to come closer to God for the first or for the 100th time. Wherever you may be in your journey, know you can always bring anything to God. The “ God Is” bible study will help you get to know God more and help you achieve your spiritual goals this year as a Christian single mom.

To know God is a personal and spiritual journey that varies for each individual, including single moms. Many of us may spend our time rattling off in prayer, relying on others to know Him for us, or not taking the time to read the Word at all. Rarely taking the time to ask God questions and offer a listening ear for Him to share with us about who He is. Ultimately, it’s a personal exploration, an amazing relational journey that every single mom should go on to know God more.

Before You Start Your Journey To Know God More

I encourage you to take inventory of what you already know about God. Ask yourself?

  • What have I learned about God since I came into christian faith?
  • What were some of the misconceptions I had or learned along the way about God?
  • What do I want to know more of regarding God?
  • In what ways, would I like to contribute to my relationship with God?

With these questions, you will develop a desire to know God more, unique to your journey. Because that is exactly what is all about, developing a personal relationship with God that you can be proud of and want to share with others to bring Him closer.

The “ God Is” Study: Know God More As A Single Mom

As a single mom, it can be hard to carve out time of rest, solitude, and quiet time with God. However, just because something is hard, it does not mean it’s impossible.

Knowing God more requires intentionality, discipline, and a hunger that delights the Lord as you delight in Him. It’s time to get serious, sis, by putting God first and back at the top of your priority list.

The kingdom of heaven is all about order and when things are out of order, your life can feel like a big pile of chaos. If you are currently in a state of chaos, you already know what to do.

Personally, in 2023, I had three months of literal chaos with financial troubles, an eviction, and a troubled relationship with friends. Now that I am in a place of reflection, I can see the common denominator: everything was out of order.

I stopped seeking to know Him more, nor to consult Him on the will and purpose for my finances, relationships, and home. I forgot who God is and was more worried about why God was not bailing me out of situations I got myself in.

Thank God, I course corrected and life as been peaceful since. Even though I am still recovering from all that happened and paying my dues, I know God was waiting until I turned my attention back to Him. And He got it!

Know God as patient…

I said all that to say, don’t feel like this journey to knowing God more is perfect and will happen in a month, quarter, or year. God wants to spend a lifetime and more with us in the eternal. God is multi-facet and we will be learning for the rest of our lives.

Honestly, God is so much more than this list. However, this list is a great place to start on your journey to know God more as a single mom.

Before you go, I would encourage you to do three tasks:

  • Read a statement a day.
  • Dive deeper into the Word using the verses provided and find additional supporting scriptures to confirm each statement.
  • Say a small, simple prayer to God, sharing with Him how much you love the attribute you are covering for that given day, how that part of Him has shown up in your life, and ask Him to continue to reveal this side to you on that day.

All in all,

God really just wants you to delight in getting to know Him just as much as He delights in knowing you. You know what it’s like when two people are really into each other, understanding and learning each other; it is truly magical and full of love.

This is what God wants for His relationship with you. It’s what I want for, you too, single mom, to grow and become even closer to God in the process.

Be sure to share on the Facebook page or through email at confidence@madenewmama.com, how this post has blessed and other attributes of who God is through your own personal study.
