Overcome Single Mom
Dear Single Mom,
You may be dealing with disappointment. Romans 8:18
- But God says… your present sufferings can’t compare to the glory in your future.
You may be dealing with shame. Romans 8:1-2
- But God says that you were set free when you came to Him through the son. Stop beating yourself up.
You may be dealing with regret. 2 Corinth 7:10
- But God says…any distress that brings us closer to God is nothing to regret.
You may be feeling like a failure. Psalm 73:26
- But God says he will be your strength forever, even when you fail internally or externally.
You may be feeling judged. Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
- But God says not to pay too much attention to what people think of you. Care about what I think about you.
You may be feeling unlovable. John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:7-8
- But God says, I love you so much that I gave my only son who died for you. All that makes you worthy of love (God).
You may be dealing with fear. Psalm 27:1
- But God says your Lord is everything you need. Anything is possible in God, He’s your light, salvation, and protector, so there is nothing you should be afraid of.
You may be self-conscious. 1 Sam 16:7, 2 Corinthian 12:9
- But God says there is no reason to feel self-conscious as He cares about your heart, not your appearance. If you are worried about your weaknesses, that’s when He does His best work in your life.
You may be dealing with rejection. John 15:18, Luke 10:16
- But God says people even rejected the perfect one. Rejection is a part of the growth process. If they reject you, they reject Me. I got your back.
You may be experiencing loneliness. Romans 8:38-39
- But God says I will never leave you alone, and I am always with you. Nothing will break this bond we have.
You may be frustrated with your situation. Galatians 6:9, 1 Peter 5:7
- But God says not to get tired and caught up in the errors and slowness of the process; great things will come when it’s time. Give your concerns to Him because He cares about what you care about.
You may feel like you can never reach your dreams now. Proverb 16:3, Habakkuk 2:2-3
- But God says, give Me your dreams, and I will bring them to pass. Make a vision, write it down, set goals to accomplish, and wait patiently as the fulfillment comes right on time.
You may be feeling like a burden to your family. Psalm 68:19, 2nd Corinthians 1: 3-7
- But God says. You are not a burden. I call my people to help carry others’ loads, and I do the same by carrying you in My arms. And as I hold you, I want you to do the same for others.
You may be experiencing non-acceptance from others. Romans 2:11, Romans 10:14-19
- But God says I don’t have favorites, and I accept you regardless. You have to believe.
Final Words To Overcome Single Mom
But God….You are such a good, good Father. You have redeemed us single mothers so that we can take back our God-given identity and overcome this world as Jesus did. We are forever grateful.
I pray this post has helped someone dealing with guilt, shame, and insecurity about their choices. Experiencing these emotions is not bad, but they can negatively influence how we perceive our world.
I challenge you to take whatever feelings you want to overcome this week and rebuke them by proclaiming what God has already said about them. Watch the atmosphere change at that moment when you stand on scripture.
