Who knew I would now need to create a thanksgiving survival guide for single moms. Thanksgiving used to be my favorite holiday. I loved thanksgiving not for the labor of love in the kitchen but for the opportunity to eat until my heart and stomach was full. Why did I have to grow up?
Thanksgiving Survival Guide When You Feel The Generational Shift
When I was younger, it was the day we looked forward to eating my grandmothers sweet potato pie, my aunt’s potato salad (the best), and so much more. Now as generations are getting older and there’s been a shift of responsibility, things are slowly changing. I am sensing my generation becoming more responsible for making things happens during the holidays now.
To be honest, I am not loving this passing of the torch.
I go back and forth in my head of maybe I should of paid more attention when my grandma was cooking and making food for us. Maybe I should take classes from folks I know that can throw down in the kitchen. I need to get it together though because I will one day become someones older aunt and grandmama one day.
So today, I am on a rampage.
As I begain my own research to conquer thanksgiving, I wanted to create a blog post of compiled resources I found to give youu and I strategies/ideas in a Thanksgiving Survival Guide for single moms.

All in all,
You should not be overwhelmed, lonely, or feel like a failure on thanksgiving. It should be a time of food, fellowship, and gratefulness. Don’t let the commercial nature or the traditions of years past impact the real reason we celebrate thanksgiving.
And despite the history of the day, I know my God works everything for good. I believe he uses this holiday to work on our hearts, help us understand why he called us to others, and to truly appreciate all the good we have in our life before the new year begins.
I hope this Thanksgiving Survival Guide will help you gain the confidence, courage, community, and connection needed to master this day with patience and love.
