Sermons Every Single Mom Should Watch On Youtube

In my previous post, I talked about 5 easy ways to get into God’s Word and I mentioned a benefit of watching sermons on youtube to ignite your hunger and thirst for the Word of God. In that, I decided to make a helpful starter list to help you find awesome sermons that will encourage you and inspire you to spring into action as a woman, mom, and child of God.

Who should I watch?

I tend to enjoy sermons from various backgrounds who are talking about things that are challenging the generation of today. I follow mostly pastors of megachurches but we are seeing more and more smaller churches and ministries that are turning to online churches. Especially in this pandemic, we are found to be stuck at home, so there’s no better time to search and binge on sermons online.

What type of sermons are out there?

There are tons and tons of sermons online now. Whatever is bothering you or needing clarification on specific biblical principles, there is a sermon for that on how to apply it to your life. Here are specific categories:

• Women 
• Men
• Relationships and Dating
• Salvation
• Singles
• Marriage
• Overcoming
• Motivational
• Parenting

Whatever you need you can find it on youtube. And if you find a pastor or speaker you love, you can always go to their personal website to see more of their content and messages. But the most important thing to remember is to not get attached to the speaker that you lose sight of who the sermon is bringing you closer to, which is God.

Why should I watch sermons?

Say you watch a movie or your favorite movie, you can remember the feelings you had, the words that were spoken, and the visual the movie provided for your memory. A movie like that for me was Bring It On. And no I sucked at cheerleading. But it spoke to me in a way that appealed to all my senses. 

For some people, reading a book does not stick with them. They refer to these people as auditory and hands-on learners. Reading does not get ingrained or even stimulate the necessary sensory systems. That is why having other options available in regards to growing your faith life is so essential. Below I have a list of sermons that I’ve enjoyed and would be beneficial for not only single moms but for anyone watching them.

10 Sermons That Every Single Mom Should Watch

1. Jennifer Maggio – 2016 National TLSM Conference

   I love this sermon because it addressed the pains and needs of the single moms specifically. Jennifer Maggio has an awesome ministry called Life As A Single Mom that has been pivotal in my life. She has various blog articles, videos, and resources to help single moms. Through her program, I became certified as a single mom ministry leader. If you’re a single mom that needs to hear another woman that has gone through what you have, then this video is for you.

2. Pastor Moore – Hungry  For God

   So I am a bit biased on this one because this is my PASTOR, Pastor Sean Moore at Faith Christian Center. He is a great teacher that breaks down important concepts of the bible and ways to apply what you are reading. Through listening to his sermons, God has really shown me how I should be because of Him. I love this sermon series because it made me reevaluate my faith walk and make my pursuit of God a priority. 3. Joyce Meyers – Seven Secrets Of A Confident Woman

   Now this lady here. I love me some Auntie Joyce! She has this charisma and confidence that is so inspirational. Joyce Meyers of Enjoy Everyday Living and Hand of Hope is a powerhouse woman of ministry. This sermon is unique because a large part of my journey as a single mom is building up my confidence and faith to the point that I can live a fearless life. If this something you need to meditate on, then this sermon is for you.

4. Dharius Daniels – Insecure Series

   This man right here came to my church in Phoenix, AZ and I’ve been glued to his ministry ever since. Dr. Dharius Daniels, pastor of Change Church, has an understanding of the mind that is beyond understanding. I just read one of his amazing books called Relationship Intelligence. If you need to address some underlying obstacles and stumbling blocks, this sermon is for you. I definitely was changed in regards to my understanding of insecurities.

5. Priscilla Shirer – When It Feels Like God Is Doing Nothing

   Priscilla Shirer, author, speaker, and actress of Going Beyond Ministries is a woman fired up for God. I love her energy and her dedication to being a prayer warrior. When you feel stuck or low, I would encourage you to check out this sermon. But this sermon is so much more than that, it’s a reminder that God is always working. But what are you doing?

6. Michael Todd -Relationship Goals Reloaded Series

   Need a youthful approach to the word? Need a good laugh while at the same time getting convicted by the word being brought forth? This is your sermon. Michael Todd of the Transformation Church has taken the topic of relationships and taken it to a whole different level. This sermon gives the truth, the Word, and keeps it 100 in regards to the new age thoughts around relationships. Check out this sermon, it has 7 parts thus far and will have 3 more messages to go. I’m hooked!

7. Sarah Jakes Robert- Girl, Get Up

   Sarah Jakes Roberts, speaker, business woman, and author, is one woman I enjoy hearing her speak. She has come from so many challenges but she has prevailed from single motherhood to an amazing woman in ministry. This sermon is one that she gave in Georgia at the Divine Conference. For the single mom that has been having a hard time moving past mistakes, failures, and disappointments, this sermon is for you.

8. Pastor Moore- If Your Money Could Talk

   Another great woman from my pastor that challenged me in regards to my finances. He does a great job of bringing in facts, statistics, and connecting money management to scripture. This sermon is a 6 part series that dives deep into money and finances. If you’re in a bind financially or in need for money advice, this is the sermon for you.

9. Holly Furtick- Overcoming Loneliness & Building Friendships That Fit

    

   Every single mom struggles with a sense of loneliness at some point on their journey and have found friendships to be limited. Holly Furtick, wife of Steven Furtick at Elevation Church shares a powerful message on overcoming and building a support system that is in alignment for what God wants for your life. She rarely speaks but when she does you will come out feeling heard, encouraged, and challenged to move forward.

10.  T.D. Jakes & Sarah Jakes Robert- Daddy Issues

    I saved the best for last. This sermon is more like a discussion chat between a father and daughter. But I tell you, I literally was in tears watching this one. Not because I have unresolved daddy issues but it was the words that T.D. Jake, Pastor of the Potter’s House, was pouring into his baby girl. He explains things from the male perspective that will help women better understand the challenges as single mothers have had with their baby fathers and co-parents. If you’re looking for a tear jerker, this one’s for you.

All in all, 

I pray these sermons touch you in the way they’ve impacted my life. You may not 100% agree with everything being said but you will get what God wants you to get out of each of these videos.
