5 Quick Prayers For A Healthy Relationship With Yourself

Spread the love

During this month of growth in my relationship with myself, I have been under attack. If you have been following the 30-day challenge, you have experienced some resistance. However, I know prayer is the greatest weapon against the enemy’s darts. Below I share 5 quick prayers for a healthy relationship with self.

5 Quick Prayers For A Healthy Relationship With Yourself

I have always shared that growing your relationship with yourself is good for you and great for the kingdom of God. When you study and genuinely love yourself, you begin to see the God in you more and more. It will also give you the confidence to be yourself for others in healthy relationships.

Below are the 5 quick prayers I wrote in my prayer journal to ignite my intention to spend time and love myself the way I deserve.  Use these prayers as a quick start, read the scripture and their context, and formulate the prayers specifically to nurture a long-term relationship with yourself.

My self-love is just as important as loving others well.

Galatians 5:14

Lord, I thank you for loving me the way you do. And just like you have loved us, you have called us to love others. I find the sweet reminder to love myself just as much as you desire me to love others in all your Words to me. Thank you, Lord, for being clear about whom all deserve our love and the reminder that I am included in that. Help us, God, to understand the purpose of loving ourselves so we can love others well for your glory. Amen.

Loving myself is an avenue of greater wisdom. Growth, triumph, and flourishment will follow me by understanding the God in me.

Proverbs 19:8

My God! This is the one right here. We often see loving ourselves as a selfish act, but in your Word, you remind me that loving myself and spending time with myself allows me to become wise and grow in ways that I can’t imagine. Father, I cast down every thought that tries to stand in the way of me loving myself and seeing myself the way You see me. You get the glory in all my understanding, and I love that You delight in my growth. Amen.

Learning to be kind, more compassionate, forgiving, and tender to everyone, including myself.

Ephesians 4:23

Father, I hear you! You desire me to be kind, more compassionate, forgiving, and tender to others. I am reminded in all Your Truth that when we bless others in this way, it allows others to sow into us in the same capacity. Lord, I pray that I break down the walls and areas of distrust in my life and let myself be vulnerable in this way with others. Not expecting but opening myself up to the kindness, compassion, and forgiveness for myself that I will freely give. Amen.

Choosing me allows me to truly heal and show up as my highest, best self so God can use me more than ever.

2 Timothy 2:21

Sheesh, God! I understand your expectation for me to clean my own house and initiate the healing from within. Holy Spirit, I know you will walk beside me on this journey to my best self, free from what tripped me up and weighed me down in the past. I desire to be used by you, God, as a blessing to others, so I will empty myself of the things that do not glorify You and present myself as a free and willing vessel. God, you give me the courage to choose myself in a season of deep healing. I am grateful! Amen.

Building my relationship with myself is not just for me but for others. I should not just be engulfed in my own needs but care for others at the same time.

Philippians 2:4

Lord, I thank you for the reminder that it’s not all about me at the end of the day. But you also remind me that I still matter in the same breath. God help me to open my eyes to the needs of others in the way I have prayed for you to open my eyes to my own needs. I give you all the glory and honor for everything I am and whom you made me for others. Amen.

All in all,

I pray that you continue to understand the importance of balancing your love for yourself with others. Neither should be greater than the other. The only love that should be above both is your love for God. The Word reminds us that:

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.

The other two are so much easier when you can love God with all your being. I am a living testimony!
